Preserving Scottish Tradition in Lander, WY

The Lander Pipe Band is a traditional Scottish pipe and drum band serving the Lander community since 2001. We perform at local events, parades, and ceremonies while honoring the music and heritage of pipe band culture.

The band’s tartan, Ancient Johnston, was chosen in honor of one of the band’s founding families, the Bobby Johnston family.

The Uplanders: Scotland 2025

Four bands. One team. One stage.

Lander Pipe Band (WY) joined ranks with band members from Upland High School Pipe Band (CA), Glendora High School Pipe Band (CA) and the Salt Lake Scots Pipe Band (UT) to become one band representing the Western US at the 2025 World Youth Pipe Band Championships. The combined band was called “The Uplanders”. We are so appreciative of this once in a lifetime collaboration!
